Get a Warm welcome at The Miller’s House B&B!

I mentioned in an earlier post that our first experience in PEC was at The Miller’s House B&B in Milford. Before we even met the owner, Bob Cowan, we were welcomed with open arms – well actually an open bottle of a delicious Chardonnay! And then we went and sat in Bob’s garden and all the stress of the city just disappears.

I think you will find that Bob is an amazing host. Right from your first booking, Bob will do his best to make sure your visit to The County is as wonderful as possible. Need a restaurant recommendation? Bob pretty much knows everyone and will even give them a call to see if he can get you in.

And then there is Bob’s breakfasts! I know I’m biased, but I’ve also stayed at other locations in The County, and Bob’s is by far the best. Breakfast is served in a sunny dining room, and it’s family style, which is a lovely way to get to know the other guest. There’s always a fruit starter and then – well look at the gallery and you’ll see what I’m talking about!

So if you are looking for a real “County” experience I’d recommend you check out The Miller’s House! Milford is about 15 minutes south of Picton, maybe I’ll see you there!

Why PEC?

Why PEC? Take a look how beautiful it is!

We were trying to remember how long ago it was when we first visited Prince Edward County. I can’t remember the exact year, but it was probably over 10 years ago. But I do remember the exact day, and the welcome we got when we arrived.  It was a Saturday, and we were starting a 3-day weekend with our good friends Beth and Bill. They had been coming down to The County for a few years by then, and thought we’d like it too. So we met them at their favourite place to stay, The Miller’s House Bed and Breakfast in Milford. We knew we were in the right place when upon arrival there was a note under a bottle of wine and 2 glasses, telling us to join our friends in the garden. I’ll tell you more about Bob and The Miller’s House in a separate post. But for now, here are some photos that will show you just how beautiful PEC truly is, and why we decided to make it our long-term home.
